Post #13 - No Luck

Well isn't #13 just appropriate for this entry. It is considered an unlucky number & boy am I ever unlucky this week. For the week of 12/30/12 11pm PT to 1/6/13 10pm PT I get to brigade against Brigade 1119777 , home of the party Omega Flare. If you keep track of the rankings, you would know that they have the top ranking players in the game. They just encounter a lot, kill fast, and then would raid my brigade's target & kill it really fast too.



Edit 01/01/13: The brigade battles seem to have balanced themselves out for better or worse. Brigade battles aren't ridiculously fast anymore because the level of Chaos Bahamut has gone up to levels 6~7.

Edit 01/03/13: I forgot that brigades battle different ones each day. My bad xD

Post #12 - Lessons Learned

DO NOT EVOLVE EVENT WEAPONS SR, TRANSMUTE THEM TO SR+ THEN EVOLVE

So today I finally got around to transmuting things when I accidentally evolved a pair of SR weapons before transmuting then to SR+ then Evolvng them together. I'm so pissed. Well there is gonna be two more weeks of this event so I'll have plenty of time to regathering crystals, sigh. Atleast CP is in better supply this time around with higher SR drop rates.

Its on FFwiki but yeah...

And if you guys haven't figured out Transmuting by now, the R+ on the left will get you the SR on the right. Pink Crystals for Swords and Bows, Purple Crystals needed for Spears. (& Blue for event abilities but I haven't touched that stuff myself yet)

It's been awhile since I've rambled here. Probably due to me hanging out @ FFwiki's IRC channel finally.

Any-hoo, there is a new event. Unfortunately i got the suckiest brigade this week. Hopefully I get a new party and thus a better brigade next week.

Yeaahh read all the event info, it's pretty straight forward. Them Red Chocobos are extremely picky eaters btw

Post #7 - Holiday Event

So apprently while reading the walls of some of the top ranked people, I learned that a Starseeker R+ Lv 160 (Max Evolutions) beats out a maxed out non-evo'ed Romulus & Remus. Trying to get that Sagittarius for me has been impossible for me so far :< I have yet to see anyone have a SR+ event weapon in their collections

BTW looking for anyone who managed to get a Lightning code from the game pre-reg event and has her summon. Send me a screen cap of it's entry in the collections book so I can see its stats.

Getting CP & Experiopedias: So as long as Atlas dies, everyone who had attacked it will get CP & Experiopedias at the end of the battle. Hitting Atlas harder gives more CP. Winning only determines who gets the Copper Chest. Being the winning brigade in the US vs THEM gives 100 Experiopedias and it is just so great. I hope that my next brigade will just as good as this weeks.

And out of the holiday Legends to be earned, it seems that Cloud & Terra are the strongest. SUCH A SHAME THEY LOOK KINDA STUPID. I'd rather be leveling up Squall. Oh & Shantotto should have been an elf, right?

While I rather be using the Ranger for the weapon bonus on bows, my strongest abilities happen to he INT based so I'm now job leveling my Red Mage (to get some extra bonus on the event swords I have) instead of the Dragoon I've been working on.

Post #6 - Increased BP Regen Time

It used to be BP/10 min for me, it has gone up to BP/13 min to regenerate. And I think the help section where it said it took 10 minutes for each BP to replenish got edited since I don't see it anywhere & I'm pretty sure had I read it. (Dear SE & DeNA, the slower regen rate sucks. Gimme back BP/10 mins.)



edit: I think it has gone up to BP/15 min now :<

Post #5 - Some Numbers

Apparently today is my 7th day of playing, for I have unlocked the Geomancer job, the only job class that gets a bonus from musical instruments.

Here is a chart of what weapon & stat each job prefers for all the current available jobs:

I want to state that Google Translate was not helpful at all for translating the weapons.

I'll assume that the quaternary tier jobs are tier 3 exp. It will be a long time before I can confirm it.



All the data comes from http://game-wiki.jp/final-fantasy-brigade/ for the original Japanese version of the game so it might not be exactly applicable to FFAB.

I'll do number crunching later to see how well this info matches.

I was going to rant about my thoughts on translating 呪 術士 but I'll save that for later.

Post #4 - Random Game Tips

Read everything in the help menu to understand all the parts about the game. Everything is pretty precise.

Save Vomp Carrots for White Chocobos, as they give better abilities than Black Chocobos!

Stop hoarding all you abilities or weapons and enhance and evolve your good stuff since you constantly get more abilities and weapons.

Delete your message after you post on someones profile if it is just for SP. Don't clutter people's messages with spam.

I also need to work on organizing this blog. The layout isn't pretty and I need links to FFwiki because it is a great resource and I edit there anyways too. This place is for my rambles :D


Anyone know a good screenshot app for android that is free? I currently use Screenshot Ultimate but there is a bit of delay when taking pictures and it is driving me nuts because I really want to get certain images so I need something instant.

Post #3 - 12/19 New Region & Updated Job Tree

A new map region has been added! Good timing thing since I've finished the Mist region a while ago.

And with new region, comes a new job to be unlocked, the 魔法剣士, or the Magic Swordsman or Mystic Knight. Not really sure how Square Enix or DeNA decided to localize it. Along with the Mystic Knight, there are new unlocks including the ルーンナイト (Rune Knight) and 剣聖 (Holy Sword/Sword Saint).

 

New Job Tree! BTW I made a typo, dragoon needs thief lv10 and dancer needs thief lv5

Great game tip: After you make a post on a fellow party member's wall in order to get SP, I really highly suggest you delete it afterwards. You get SP and you don't have to leave spam posts. No one likes spam. Unless its from a can. Yum!

Post #2 - New Events

Just when I thought I finally got the hang of this game, there are TWO events. Naturally the seasonal Christmas Winter Holiday themed one where you can get special summon stones of Lightning, Shantotto, Squall, Terra, & Cloud.

BTW you get holiday Lightning as an ally during esper realm battles instead of 2 brigade members. Dunno how strong she is.

The other involves getting FFXIII-2 and Serah & Noel's weapons. The Rift thingie shows up when there is no active esper battle going on in the brigade page.

I wish the events were separated, as this is a lot to juggle. DeNA ought to give Plumberry Acres some event love. Seriously, not fair how cute the Japanese's version event looks (I found the facebook page when hunting for FFB pictures)

This is just going to be a small little blog about my thoughts on Final Fantasy Airborne Brigade and any tips & tricks I've learned along the way.

First off, a job tree chart of how to unlock the advanced jobs:

Initial Jobs: Black Mage, Warrior, Thief, Red Mage, Monk, White Mage
Dark Knight: Lv 10 Black Mage & Lv 5 Warrior
Dragoon: Lv 10 Warrior & Lv 5 Thief
Dancer: Lv 10 Thief & Red Mage
Paladin: Lv 10 Monk & White Mage
Samurai: Lv 15 Warrior & Lv 10 Dragoon
Ninja: Lv 10 Dancer & Lv  5 Monk
Ranger: Defeat the Boss of Monastery Mountains 7
Geomancer: bonus of the 7th day of logging into the game
