Trusting the Optimize fo Battle Bonus Button

Unrelated to this post, just didn't want anyone to forget!

So I did some testing today after noticing that the "Optimize for Battle Bonus" equipped my Fire Weapon & Ability as Main instead of the Bonus Weapon & Ability. Note: I ramble and it may not make sense. Short conclusion is that the "Optimize for Battle Bonus" will pick whatever will give you the highest total damage dealt.

Hi everyone, the FFT event is finally over! I hope everyone did well and was able to enjoy the new brigade battle format. Next up is the FFIII event, Saronia Castle Mysteries. The tentative launch time & date is 7:00 pm PT Tuesday 6/4.

Lifting an Esper

On the left, we have what I'll call "Lifting an Esper" after Yiying Lu's "Lifting a Dreamer" although everyone probably knows it better as Twitter's fail whale. Which is probably how everyone feels about Bismarck.

And then right, we have what I'm calling "Dropping a Blocker" as in I hope it falls on the other brigade and keeps them from getting more points. Featuring Black Chocobos because in FFIV, they were the only breed of chocobos capable of flying.

Final Fantasy Tactics: Truth is Forever

Happy News: FFT event started, storage slots has DOUBLED! Happy times :)

Read the Event Details/Briefing to understand the event better. Or you could read what I typed for myself so I could get a better grasp of things.


The main portion of the FFT event has started! Many thought it was going to start at 7pm PT because of previous events, but because of the new brigade battle face off I figured it was going to start after brigade down time. Which it did and here we are now in a new quad-brigade system. There will be 2 downtimes a day now, one at 1:00pm-1:59pm PT and from the usual 10:00pm-11:59pm PT.

Overdrives have returned. They are random and affect only you. They can show up after all out attacks, even if you also do a summon during that battle. Your attack will receive a 1.5x boost.

Normal Esper & Fiends will not show up. Therefore no more miracle drinks. The 'event esper' is a stronger(more hp) version of the usual weak espers that we were used to fighting.

More rewards for bosses Lv8 or higher.

As always: Event bonuses for weapons, abilities, and summon stones during the event are only in effect during said event. Evolution items (Perfume & Lipstick) obtained during this event cannot be used to transmute later event weapons and abilities. Crystal Keys do not carry over to the next event that uses them.

DONT MISS THE FREE SUMMON STONES: When you are on the Event page, visit the Check Event Rewards link. Then Scroll down to #3, Boss Defeat Count Rewards, click Details for that. Then claim summon stones! EDIT: a link has been added to the air ship page for easier access, hooray!

I recently made some wallpapers for my tablet's wallpaper and lock screen. They turned out so well that it would be a shame not to share them here.

Can you name them all?

We have weapons, abilities, summons, scrolls, airship, and ally* types here. The 3 that looked faded out are because I haven't seen a picture of them yet so I don't know if they exist for real in game yet.



*I've heard the players call them legends but the R rarity ones I saw were of the equippable job classes so I didn't want to call the whole category legends. (In Final Fantasy Brigade Break the Seal update, you equip party members like your weapons and abilities instead of using your 2 strongest people from your brigade.)

SSR Weapons

Just in case anyone is still confused about the SSR weapon equipments, requirments are as follows:

Hopefully this chart helps clarify how to obtain the SSR weapons since it wasn't explained well in the game.

The best way to use those to fulfill the Minimum Total Ally Levels is to spread the exp between all available characters. For example if you have two 99 leveled allies, and ten other allies, nine allies need to be level 20 and one ally needs to be level 21 to reach the Minimum Total Ally Level of 300.


Mathematically it is impossible for normal users to get 8 or more SSR weapons during this event.

Hope everyone has scrolls and gil to level up their weapons once they arrive! And maybe some storage space too. Time for some spring cleaning if DeNA doesn't give us more slots.

New jobs in FFB Japan

A little birdie says that Japan has gotten the beast master, bard, and black wizard jobs recently. About time given how bards show up on like 3 abilities already.

I dunno if I mentioned it, but I predicted bard requirement will be geomancer and orator. If try to find out more info to see if my hypothesis is correct. Edit: it seems to be a region clear reward

Final Fantasy Special Event Game Plan

The Final Fantasy Special Event a.k.a. the 25th anniversary event, is quite complex compared the previous ones, isn't it? Hopefully everyone has gotten the hang of it by now.

Anyways the point I like to bring up is that it is probably best to do as many 1bp attacks as possible so you can get alot of the exp books. Leveling the FF characters from the moogle saloon is very important to get SSR weapons later which are stronger than the rank prizes. (Yet they may not be super important given how there is always events going on where everyone switches to bonus event gear anyways.) CP is still important so you can be strong in your battles against Chaos for more exp books. Skip the crystal chest, it's not guaranteed that a crystal weapon will drop, go for the platinums to make max limit boosted SR weapons. If you have alot of crystals, transmutions will be easy to do to increase your str & def. You might not even need to fully limit boosted weapons if you have a lot of crystals.

Special Boss Death Count Rewards

And Operation Jenova is over! I hope everyone had fun. And if you thought that was long, wait until the 25th anniversary kicks off. It gonna be long! If you want more info, check out the posts @ FFAB World Squadrons, link is on the right sidebar.

Say you were a bit absent minded like me and forgot to claim some materia from the death count rewards. It is still possible to collect them, so don't freak out. From the airship page, you need to click the link to trade cp.

 From the trade cp page, your click on event bonus ability & weapon at the bottom.

 

Then you click the Blue button that says Ability info.

 

Scroll to bottom of the page, click to event top.

 

Then click on defeat count rewards and you will be all set!

 

Pre-reg for Crystal Sword

Go to the airship page. Click the button. Very easy. Now go do it if your haven't yet.

It's a new week

Parts 1&2 ranking takes place today! Are you ready? The game added a count down timer do you don't miss it!

Seems the weekly tier expansion was temporary. Looks like it had gone back to what the game initially launched with. Oh well.

Cloud's Bastard sword had been renamed Buster Sword. It still sucks though.

I've been swimming in cp and red materia so I made more premium hearts before the extra part starts. All weapons will be drop from the chests so I wanted to get the fists before the odds got even more worse.

Didn't realize the Ashe referral thing ended already. But that's okay, because we got Terra now! New players use d02f3e39 to get free gil, x-potion, ability & summon stone!

More about the Extra Part~ Black Materia is finally available! So stop asking poor Noel about it ;p

No, the Apocalpyse is not available from the CP treasure chests, sadly. But should you want the rod or gun from part 1, they are available again.

Green Chocobos have returned as well! If it is like last time, the R,R+ espers will be available again. Along with the new Sephiroth II, Cloud IV, Aerith II, Tifa III, you can also get the Cloud, Aerith, & Tifa summonstones from FF7 Calamity from the Skies event.
